This notice explains how we use personal information when you contact us about an EPC.

Who is responsible for your information
Brighton & Hove Independent EPCs is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

Information we collect
When you use the appointment request form or contact us by email, we may collect:
- your name;
- your email address and telephone number;
- the property postcode and property type; and
- preferred dates and any other information you include in your message.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in your message.
How we use your information
We use it to respond to your enquiry, discuss the property, provide or confirm a price and arrange an appointment if you decide to proceed. We may also keep a record of our correspondence to manage the enquiry and deal with any later questions.
We do not use enquiry details for marketing and we do not sell them.
Our lawful basis
We use your information where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, such as providing a quote or arranging an EPC. We also have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and keeping appropriate business records.
Who we share information with
We do not share enquiry details with other organisations for their own marketing. Information may be processed by service providers that supply website hosting, form delivery and email services, including Google as our email provider. These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information where required by law or when needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on an applicable UK adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards intended to protect the information.
How long we keep information
If an enquiry does not result in a booking, we will normally delete the correspondence within 12 months of our last contact. If you book an EPC, relevant correspondence and transaction records may be kept for up to six years after the service is completed where needed for tax, insurance, legal or complaint-handling purposes.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, correct it, have it deleted, restrict how it is used, object to its use or receive it in a portable format.

Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies. The hosting service may use strictly necessary technologies for security and to provide the website. These do not require consent, so the website does not display a cookie banner.
